AC Milan agree deal for Tonny Vilhena

Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that AC Milan have all but agreed to sign Dutch midfielder Tonny Vilhena from Feyenoord.

The highly rated footballer will be out of contract at the end of the season and he has already decided to leave De Kuip for greener pastures.

And while several top clubs were keen on his services, Il Corriere dello Sport claims that AC Milan have emerged as favourites for his signature.

The same source has suggested that the Rossoneri managed to reach an agreement with agent Mino Raiola and the player’s father that should be made official in the coming weeks.

Vilhena is another impressive product of Feyenoord’s youth academy and he has already amassed 112 Eredivisie appearances, scoring 15 goals in the process.

Van Gaal concedes Manchester United fear factor is gone

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal wants the club to regain the fear factor that was instilled under former boss Alex Ferguson.

United have failed to win a major trophy since Ferguson retired at the end of the 2012-13 Premier League season, with only the 2013 Community Shield to their name.

The 28 year old is still in the prime of his career and it seems like he has a lot more to offer, although there will be some apprehension as to whether or not he’d be used properly …

Confederations Cup Diary: Mexico win MediaBowl, Beausejour is our new best friend and everyone loves

Tatarstan desserts after an island tour, free goat produce in Sochi and a traditional folk dance in a car park all made for one of the more unusual days so far.

Out on the pitch, Russia lost their crucial showdown with Mexico (well, sort of), and Jean Beausejour showed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Alexis Sanchez that politeness goes a long way.
