It s been claimed Liverpool had serious doubts about Uruguay international Darwin Nunez as his £64m arrival was largely driven by Jurgen Klopp.

The Premier League giants paid an initial fee of around £64m to sign from Benfica during the 2022 summer transfer window. This deal came about after he scored 34 goals in his 41 appearances across all competitions during the 2021/22 campaign.
